Today’s tour starts at 8:00 am with a pick up from the hotel in the city center. Leave the buzz of Ho Chi Minh City behind and drive approximately 2.5 hours through the countryside for the tour to Ben Tre province, well- known as the land of coconut in Mekong Delta.
On arrival in Ben Tre province, board a local boat, cruise through the smaller tributaries of Ben Tre province. Sip a freshly picked coconut as the boat winds through the maze of canals.
Observe how traditional terracotta bricks are made. This is a traditional method that has been used for centuries. Following, visit a coconut factory where the locals gather coconut, peel its skin, crack it and learn how every part of the nut is used.
Return to the motorized boat once more in order to further explore the local family-operated cottage industries in the region, as well as the production of coconut candy. Witness numerous local women dedicating their days boiling cauldrons of sticky coconut paste, which is later rolled out and cut into square sections.
