Hike through breathtaking landscapes to Y Linh Ho village, Lao Chai village, Sapa town, and Sin Chai village on this 2-day tour from Hanoi. Choose from a tour with roundtrip train tickets, a tour with a train to Sapa and a sleeper bus back to Hanoi, or a tour with roundtrip sleeper bus tickets.
Night 1: Hanoi - Sapa by Train or Sleeper Bus
Day 1: Sapa – Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van – Sapa (10km trekking)
6:30 AM – Meet your guide and driver upon arrival at Lao Cai Train Station or Bus Station in Sapa Town before being transferred to Sapa in a shared bus. The ride uphill to Sapa takes a little over an hour and will give you a first glimpse of the stunning vistas and impressive rice terraces.
On arrival at the hotel in Sapa, enjoy an early check-in if the room is available, otherwise enjoy a refreshment before having breakfast.
9:30 AM – Start the day with 6km of walking down to the southeast of Sapa along Muong Hoa Valley to Y Linh Ho village, the home of the H’mong people. Continue walking for another 3km down to Lao Chai Village. Stop at the village for lunch.
After lunch, continue trekking through the rice terraces to Ta Van village of the Tay minority. This trek is relatively easy although the trail can be quite slippery if it rains.
3:00 PM – Return to Sapa in a shared bus and check in to the hotel. Take some time to explore Sapa Town, especially its market with all the colorful handicrafts.
Have dinner and stay overnight at the hotel in Sapa Town.
Night 2: Overnight stay at the hotel
Day 2: Cat Cat village – Sapa (7km trekking)
8:00 AM – After breakfast, begin the second day of your adventure by exploring villages that are located a little bit further to the southwest of Sapa including Cat Village, the home of the H’mong people. Enjoy stunning views of a picturesque waterfall and the vestige of a hydroelectric power station.
See the local villagers working in the paddy rice fields and the kids playing. Enjoy the opportunity to take close-up pictures of water buffaloes, pot-bellied pigs, and chickens. Have lunch in the village at noon.
Continue to hike for another 3km to Sin Chai Village, situated at the base of Hoang Lien Son Mountain with Fansipan Peak, which is also known as the roof of Vietnam and Indochina. Enjoy the panoramic view of the village and take some more photos before heading back to Sapa Town.

Our pickup service is available from Monday to Friday at your hotel in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Please wait in the hotel lobby 10 minutes before the scheduled pickup. However, please note that on weekends, due to the walking street restrictions, the pickup will be at our bus office in the Old Quarter instead.
