Santa Rosa Winery: Famiglia Passadore Tasting Tour with Lunch

Santa Rosa Winery was founded in 1898 and has 126 years of history where you can discover its history, family tradition and innovation. The tours are led by its winemaker and Juan Passadore.
Once the tourist arrives at the winery, they will be welcomed with a cup of coffee in the winter months or Medio y Medio (traditional Uruguayan drink) in the park in the summer months.
Afterwards, the winemaker will tell them the history of the family business from its beginnings and how it evolved over time. Then you will visit the Tannat vineyard, emblematic variety of Uruguay, to continue touring the winery facilities, you can see the production plant and its machinery and enter an original tank from 1930, then we will go to the cellar where we have the largest number of barrels on display in Uruguay dating from 1940, We will also visit the barrel cellar where we elaborate our Antique Sherry and where our Reserva and Gran Reserva wines evolve, and the cellar where our natural sparkling wine Fond de Cave rests, being the largest subway cellar in the continent in activity. You will also receive a master class on sparkling wine disgorging with the machinery we use in the process.
Finally, you will visit the museum of the Old San Javier Winery from 1820, where we have wines from 1967, 1978 ...
The tasting and lunch will take place in the subway cellar of the winery.
