Los Angeles: "Batcaves" Cultural History & Ecology Tour

Take a short hike to the exterior shooting location of the 1960s tv show “Batman." Learn about the ecology that shaped the history of Los Angeles and California. A hands-on delight for the senses.
This tour starts in the Brush Canyon parking lot and goes up the short Bronson Caves Hike Trail to the eponymous cave used as an exterior location for the 1960s tv series starring Adam West - as well as many other Hollywood movies. This tour is the shortest tour but offers rich and unique examples of all the riparian, sage scrub, oak woodland, and chaparral communities as the longer tours - and even includes a great view of the Hollywood Sign. Like all of Earth City Wonder Tours, this tour covers the 4 major eras of Los Angeles: the pre-Colombian Tongva/Gabrielino/Kizh era, the New Spain Era, the Mexico Era, and the U.S. American era - all in the context of four major ecological communities in Southern California.

Where to park for the Bronson Caves Tour: 2818 Canyon Drive Los Angeles, Ca

Arrive 15 minutes before the start of the tour in the lower parking lot.

Bring water, sunscreen, good shoes, a hat and dress in layers.

This 1 hour tour is less than a mile roundtrip with very minimal elevation gain. We end where we begin in the parking lot.
