Day 01: Tunis - Testour - Dougga - El Kef - Sbeitla
Start your day with a convenient pick-up from your hotel in Tunis or Hammamet.
Begin your journey with a visit to Testour, a quaint town renowned for its distinctive mosques inspired by Spanish churches. The Great Mosque of Testour features a unique minaret with a clock that has hands moving counterclockwise and upside-down numerals.
Next, travel to Dougga, a stunning Roman city set on a hillside amidst olive groves and overlooking lush fields and forested hills. Built from golden-hued stone, Dougga seamlessly blends with the Kalled Valley and Teboursouk Mountains. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997, Dougga is considered one of Africa's most impressive Roman ruins.
Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.
Afterward, proceed to El Kef, where you can explore the old town perched on a cliff with panoramic valley views. This historic area is home to a diverse array of monuments from various periods and religions, including Roman cisterns and baths, an ancient church dedicated to St. Peter, an 18th-century Jewish synagogue cherished by Muslims, and three adjacent cemeteries for Muslims, Jews, and Christians. The town’s most iconic site is the Sidi Bou Makhlouf Mausoleum, famous for its white domes and octagonal minaret decorated with emerald green ceramics.

Day 02: Sbeitla - Kairouan - Tunis
After breakfast, set out to explore the ancient site of Sufetula, which is partially integrated into the modern city of Sbeitla. This city, which developed nearly a millennium and a half after Sufetula, is now a prominent urban center in the Upper Steppe region.
Next, travel to Kairouan, the fourth holiest city in Islam. Discover its key landmarks, including the Great Mosque of Okba Ibn Nefaa, the Aghlabid Basins, and the Sidi Sahbi Mausoleum.
Enjoy a lunch break at a local restaurant, then delve into the vibrant Medina. Wander through the traditional souks and visit the carpet workshops.
Return to your place of residence to conclude your day.
