After pickup from your hotel, travel by coach to Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park. The only national park on the island, it is a wildlife sanctuary rich in fauna and flora. Established in 1960 as a protected natural area, it covers an area of 50 square kilometers.
Follow your guide on a walking tour of the forest. Keep your eyes peeled for the rare Zanzibar red colobus monkeys, which are native to the island. As you explore, see the white-throated guenon, an endangered species of small antelope, as well as more than 50 species of butterflies and 40 different species of birds.
Walk along a wooden footbridge through the mangroves to spot other animals living in this protected reserve. After your tour, relax on the return journey to your hotel.
