8 Days Climb Mount Kilimanjaro via Lemosho Route

The Lemosho Route begins on the western side of Kilimanjaro, starting in the lush rainforest at the Londorossi Gate. This area is rich in wildlife, and trekkers may encounter various species.
Day 1: Arrival in Moshi

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to a hotel in Moshi.
Meet your guides and have a pre-climb briefing.
Check your gear and prepare for the climb.

Day 2: Moshi to Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp

Elevation: 2,200m to 2,385m to 2,780m
Hiking Time: 3-4 hours
After breakfast, drive to Londorossi Gate for registration.
Begin your trek through the lush rainforest to Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp.
Overnight at Mti Mkubwa Camp.

Day 3: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp

Elevation: 2,780m to 3,500m
Hiking Time: 5-6 hours
Continue through the rainforest and into the heath and moorland zone.
Arrive at Shira 1 Camp with stunning views of the Shira Plateau.
Overnight at Shira 1 Camp.

Day 4: Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp

Elevation: 3,500m to 3,850m
Hiking Time: 3-4 hours
Trek across the Shira Plateau, with possible detours to the Shira Cathedral.
Reach Shira 2 Camp, where you acclimate and rest.
Overnight at Shira 2 Camp.

Day 5: Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp

Elevation: 3,850m to 3,900m (via Lava Tower at 4,600m)
Hiking Time: 7-8 hours
Ascend to the Lava Tower, a critical acclimatization point.
Descend to the Barranco Camp, set in a valley below the Great Barranco Wall.
Overnight at Barranco Camp.

Day 6: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Elevation: 3,900m to 4,040m
Hiking Time: 4-5 hours
Climb the Barranco Wall and traverse over valleys to the Karanga Camp.
Spend the afternoon relaxing and acclimatizing.
Overnight at Karanga Camp.

Day 7: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Elevation: 4,040m to 4,640m
Hiking Time: 3-4 hours
Ascend steadily to Barafu Camp, the base camp for summit night.
Rest and prepare for the final ascent to Uhuru Peak.
Overnight at Barafu Camp.

Day 8: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

Elevation: 4,640m to 5,895m (Uhuru Peak) to 3,100m
Hiking Time: 10-14 hours
Start the summit attempt at midnight, trekking to Stella Point and then to Uhuru Peak.
After celebrating at the summit, descend to Mweka Camp via Barafu Camp.
Overnight at Mweka Camp.

Day 9: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate to Moshi

Elevation: 3,100m to 1,640m
Hiking Time: 3-4 hours
Descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate.
Receive summit certificates and transfer back to Moshi.
Celebrate your achievement and rest.
