Welcome to Tanzania commences on an exhilarating 1-day adventure to Mount Meru, the second-highest peak in Tanzania, offering breathtaking vistas and an immersive nature experience.
After an early morning breakfast in Arusha (1400m), you will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the Momella Gate in Arusha National Park. Here, your guide will organize and pack the gear for the hike and complete the registration with Tanzania National Park (TANAPA).
Your adventure begins with an ascent in Arusha National Park, akin to a hiking tour. You can expect to see wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, antelope, buffalo, and possibly elephants along the trail. Due to the likelihood of encountering wildlife, an armed ranger, hired through the National Park, will accompany your guide for the duration of the hike.
As you hike, you will cross the Ngarenanyuki River and visit a stunning waterfall at the base of Mt. Meru. After about 4-5 hours, you will reach Miriakamba, where you will be rewarded with spectacular views of the neighboring peaks. Following this, you will descend via the same route and return to Arusha, concluding this incredible 1 Day Mount Meru hiking Tour.
