Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha to Momella Gate - Miriakamba Hut
Description: Depart from Arusha in the morning and drive to Arusha National Park. After registration at Momella Gate, begin your trek with an armed ranger escort. Hike through lush forests, where you may spot wildlife such as buffalo, giraffes, and various bird species. Reach Miriakamba Hut (2,514 meters) in the late afternoon.
Distance: 10 km (6.2 miles)
Elevation Gain: 1,014 meters (3,327 feet)
Hiking Time: 5-7 hours
Accommodation: Miriakamba Hut
Day 2: Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut
Description: After breakfast, continue your ascent, leaving the forest behind and entering the heath zone. Enjoy stunning views of the Meru Crater and Ash Cone as you climb to Saddle Hut (3,570 meters). In the afternoon, take an acclimatization hike to Little Meru (3,820 meters) for spectacular views.

Day 3: Saddle Hut to Summit (Socialist Peak) - Miriakamba Hut
Description: Wake up around midnight and begin your final ascent to the summit. Hike through Rhino Point (3,800 meters) and Cobra Point (4,350 meters) to reach Socialist Peak (4,566 meters) by sunrise. Enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the Great Rift Valley, and the Ash Cone. After spending some time at the summit, descend back to Saddle Hut for a short rest and brunch, then continue down to Miriakamba Hut.
Distance: 5 km ascent (3.1 miles) + 13 km descent (8 miles)
Elevation Gain: 996 meters (3,268 feet) ascent + 2,052 meters (6,732 feet) descent
Hiking Time: 10-14 hours (total for ascent and descent)

Day 4: Miriakamba Hut to Momella Gate - Return to Arusha
Description: After breakfast, descend through the forest to Momella Gate. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and possibly spot more wildlife along the way. At Momella Gate, you will receive your certificates before transferring back to Arusha, where your adventure concludes.
