Embark on rich tribal history of the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes on safari adventure. Experience a “day in the life” of a local villager as you take part in cultural activities specific to each tribe.
Day 1: Arusha to Lake Eyasi- Datoga Tribe
Hotel pick up early in the morning after breakfast then depart for Lake Eyasi safari, whom you learn more about their fascinating culture. Picnic lunch then we go for Datoga village tour he Datoga Tribe. They aren’t hunter-gatherers like the Hadza, however. They farm sheep and engage in agriculture. The Datoga are excellent metalworkers as well. They make weapons, jewellery, tools, and other useful items out of iron. When you approach them, like the Maasai, they will warmly welcome you into their area by performing dances and leading you into their homes. Datoga speak in a language called Datooga, but the guides will be able to translate the language for you so that you can really get to know their lifestyle. They might even ask you to take part in rituals such as grinding corn or trying your hand at making arrows. Datoga like the Maasai might try to sell you some of their items but most of them will be small and affordable, and they won’t be as pushy as the Maasai. Day 2: Hadzabe Tribe Tour
After an early morning breakfast, you depart for your cultural tour with the hadza community. This is your day with typical cultural tribe and engage in real hunting together.It is a tribe of hunters and collectors, which formerly inhabited the Serengeti, but was forced away by stronger and more aggressive tribes.The Hadza live in traditional ways, hunting game such as dik-diks and collecting honey. Their huts are simple, built in a few hours and as easily abandoned. Like another people of hunters and collectors, the San tribe of the Kalahari in southern Africa, the Hadza speak a click language. After hunting and engagement with the tribe, you depart for arusha with a stop for your lunch on the way. Later drop to your hotel or proceed to kilimanjaro airport for flight home.
