Day 1: Ancient Wonders of Dambulla and Sigiriya
Your journey begins with an early morning drive from the bustling capital towards Sri Lanka's Cultural Triangle. Visit the Dambulla Golden Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and explore its 5 magnificent cave temples. See over 150 Buddha statues and ancient murals dating back to the 1st century BC.
Continue to the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, known as the "Eighth Wonder of the World." Climb to the top of this 200-meter-high ancient palace complex. Admire the famous frescoes and mirror wall, and take in stunning 360° views from the summit.
Day 2: Wildlife Adventure at Wasgamuwa
Start your day with a morning safari in Wasgamuwa National Park. Look out for wild elephants, endemic birds, sloth bears, and various deer species. After your safari, take a scenic drive through rural Sri Lanka, passing tea plantations, rice paddies, and mountain vistas.
Day 3: Trekking and Culinary Adventures
Start the day with a 13-kilometre trek through the countryside. Pass through tea plantations, rice paddies, and small villages. Your destination will be the scenic Ratna Ella waterfall and monuments in Sita Kotuwa. After your trek, take part in a traditional Sri Lankan cooking class. Learn about local spices and ingredients and prepare authentic dishes.
Day 4: Scenic Train Journey and Adventure Sports
Take a scenic train journey from Ella to Nuwara Eliya. Admire the views of tea plantations, mountain valleys, and waterfalls. In the afternoon, head to Kitulgala for a whitewater rafting experience. Enjoy a safety briefing before you head out onto the water. Experience grade 2–3 rapids as you navigate the river.
