A morning safari in Minneriya National Park offers an excellent opportunity to witness wildlife in the cool, early hours when animals are most active.
Minneriya Morning Jeep Safari Itinerary:

1. Early Start:
- 5:30 AM - 6:00 AM: Pick-up from your hotel or designated meeting point. It's best to start early to maximize your chances of seeing wildlife, as animals are most active at dawn.

2. Entering Minneriya National Park:
- 6:30 AM: Arrival at Minneriya National Park entrance. You will board a 4x4 jeep with an experienced driver-guide who will navigate the park and point out wildlife along the way. Entry tickets will be purchased here if not pre-arranged.

3. Safari Drive:
- 6:30 AM - 9:30 AM: The safari drive typically lasts about 3 hours. As you traverse the park, expect to see:
- Elephants: This is the best time to see herds of elephants, especially near the Minneriya Tank.
- Other Wildlife: Spot various animals, including deer, monkeys, peacocks, and occasionally leopards. Bird watchers will enjoy sightings of storks, pelicans, and other native species.
- Scenic Views: Enjoy the park's diverse landscapes, from grasslands to wetlands, with the backdrop of the ancient Minneriya Tank.

4. Return:
- 9:30 AM - 10:00 AM: Conclude the safari and exit the park. Drop-off back at your hotel or meeting point.
