We will be delighted to welcome you to our world-class city, on this completely private and customizable tour, just for you and your party. Although Valencia is Spain’s third-largest city, you will get everything you are looking for by choosing the amount of time that best suits you and your party’s needs. Either way, you will be introduced to all the most famous sites of Valencia, whilst spending a wonderfully enjoyable day with one or our top private guides, experts in the city and in the language you choose.
Although you can tweak the amount of driving and walking as you’d like, the usual route starts with about half walking time, with stops, and half driving time, with stops. We pick you up by private transport at your hotel, lodging train station
or the cruise ship port, and we drive along seeing an overall view of the many different areas, such as the beach area, funky Cabanyal neighborhood and stop for about 30 min at the world-renown City of Arts and Sciences. Then we drive around the historical center seeing its famous peripheral sites such as the Colon Market, Colon shopping street, bullring, modernista train station, medieval towers of Quart and Serranos, riverbed park and we then park in the historical center.
The historical center is all pedestrian, so depending on the time you choose, we would generally see the gothic quarter, Calle de Caballeros (Street of the Knights), famous plazas of Ayuntamiento, Plaza de la Reina, Plaza de la Virgen, Central Market. If you choose 4 hours, ONE of the historical sites would be included and that would usually be the UNESCO world heritage site of the Silk Exchange and you would see all other sites in a briefer way, from the outside or with peek stops only. The more time you choose, the more sites you will see on the inside, from the Almoina Roman ruins under the city, to the Cathedral or another one of our 100 medieval churches, climb one of the medieval towers, visit the National Ceramics museum and noble Palace of the Marquis of Dos Aguas.
No tour of our city would be complete without taking some time to explore several of our town plazas, where locals come together to chat, have a coffee or Valencian horchata. If you’re lucky, you might even spot a fallera, a local young woman dressed in a traditional 18th century garb, while we have a snack or lunch stop, depending on your choice of hours.
If you’d like to stop for just a snack break, that’s fine, but for those foodies who would like an authentic paella lunch stop, that can only be eaten with the 6-8 hour version of this tour. Also please note, the City of Arts and Sciences does not require tickets, unless you want to go into spend 2 hours at the Oceanographic aquarium or Science museum, which can only be done on the 6-8 hour version of this Highlights tour (entrances are not included).
