Day 1: Bucharest to Sibiu via Curtea de Arges & Transfăgărășan
Start your journey from Bucharest with a visit to Curtea de Arges Monastery, known for the legend of Master Manole. Then, take the spectacular Transfăgărășan Road, once called “the best road in the world” by Top Gear. Along the way, stop for breathtaking views and visit the glacial Balea Lake in the heart of the Carpathians. The day ends in Sibiu, a beautiful medieval Saxon city where you’ll spend the night.
Day 2: Sibiu to Corvin Castle & Alba Iulia Fortress
Discover the iconic Corvin Castle (Hunyadi Castle), one of Europe’s most striking Gothic fortresses, steeped in legend and history. Then, head to Alba Carolina Fortress, a grand Vauban-style citadel that played a vital role in Romania’s past. Return to Sibiu for another night in this charming, historic town.
Day 3: Sighisoara & Brașov
Travel to UNESCO-listed Sighisoara, a 16th-century medieval wonder with the Clock Tower and Vlad Dracula’s birthplace. Continue to Brașov, where you’ll explore Rope Street, one of Europe’s narrowest streets, and the grand Black Church. Overnight in Brașov, a lively city surrounded by mountain views.
Day 4: Dracula’s Castle & Peles Castle, Return to Bucharest

Peles Castle is closed on Mondays; however, you can still admire the castle and its beautiful gardens from the outside.
The Transfăgărășan Road is open only from July to October. In case of unfavorable weather (such as heavy snow), the road may be closed. Therefore, the Transfăgărășan will only be included in the itinerary for tours booked between July and October, or when it is open.
For the best experience and availability, we suggest booking your tour at least 5 days in advance.
