The villages of Ponta do Sol, Calheta and Estreito da Calheta are very well known for their large production of sugar cane, bananas and wine.
In Calheta, you will find one of the two man-made, golden, sandy beaches that Madeira has to offer. You will have the opportunity to visit the Engenho da Calheta, a sugar cane factory, where you can admire how sugar cane rum is made and have the opportunity to walk around the distillery.
Then continue your trip to Ponta do Pargo. See the lighthouse at Madeira's most western point where you can relax and enjoy the magnificent views over the Atlantic.
Ponta do Pargo is also where you will have your lunch break stop. There are various snack bars, restaurants and coffee shops where you can have lunch.
After lunch you will make your way through Estreito de Câmara de Lobos towards Funchal.
