The Ruta del Sol is an impressive route that links Cusco and Puno in Peru, allowing travelers to admire the Andes and discover valuable cultural and natural treasures along the way.
The first day of our trip, the Ruta del Sol from Cusco to Puno, will begin with our departure from the bus station at the scheduled time. After approximately an hour of travel, we will arrive in Andahuaylillas, where we will visit the Church of San Pedro Apóstol, known as the Sistine Chapel of America.
Our next stop will be at the archaeological site of Racchi, where we can explore the remains of the temple of the god Wiracocha. Afterwards, we will head to a local restaurant to enjoy a tasty lunch before continuing our journey towards Paso de la Raya, an impressive mountain pass that rises more than 4,300 meters above sea level.
After taking some photographs at Paso de la Raya, we will continue our tour to the Pukara interpretation center, where we will learn about the origins of the Andean civilization in the highlands.
We will conclude this day of the Ruta del Sol in Cusco and Puno, leaving you at the Puno bus station.
