From Puerto Maldonado: Macaw clay lick Full Day

This tour offers a unique experience to explore the biodiversity of the Tambopata rainforest, with the opportunity to observe exotic birds such as parrots and macaws, spotting wildlife.
We will start at 3:00 a.m. with pick up at your hotel and a tour of approximately two hours. The first part will be along the Inter-Oceanic Highway, then we will continue by boat on the Tambopata River for an hour and a half, crossing the Malinowski Lodge and the checkpoint. During the trip, we will enjoy the sunrise and the possibility of observing birds, capybaras, white caimans and, with luck, a jaguar or an anaconda on the banks of the Tambopata National Reserve.

Arriving at the **Macaws Clay Lick**, we will witness a spectacular natural show with parrots and macaws. We will learn about the behavior of these birds and the importance of clay in their daily diet. This experience, which runs from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., will be followed by a delicious breakfast overlooking the show.

After the observation, we will visit the checkpoint to learn more about the area through a small museum. Then, we will head to our lodge to rest or enjoy a swim in the Mississippi Creek. After lunch, we will explore local farming techniques and Brazil nut collection in the jungle, while observing monkeys and other mammals on a short hike.

At the end of the day, we will take a canoe for a 20-minute trip down the river, followed by a van ride back to Puerto Maldonado.
