It is one of the most popular tours that takes you deep into the Manu National Park. It is the perfect combination of the cloud forest, the Manu tropical forest and the Manu cultural zone.
Day 1:
At 05000 a.m. We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco.
Our first stop will be in Paucartambo.
Upon arrival you will have the opportunity to see the biodiversity of the region.
Our tour guide will explain to you about the different species of plants and birds that are different from Manu.
After the tour, we will take you to the Atalaya boat dock. Here you will board the motor board for your tour of the Madre de Dios River.
We will accommodate you at Manu Jungle Lodge.
Day 2:
We will leave Manu Wildlife Lodge quite early in the morning when we arrive at Casa Matsiguenka.
So after savoring a typical Amazonian lunch, we will embark on a short walk along one of the trails.
After the tour, we will return to the lodge to enjoy a delicious dinner.
Day 3:
Here we will walk to the top of a 15 meter high watchtower.
You will be able to see birds like the primitive and exuberantly feathered Sansho (Hoatzin).
The area is also home to different species of monkeys, varieties of flowers and butterflies.
We will have the afternoon dedicated to visiting Lake Salvador Oxbow.
From aboard our catamaran you can immerse yourself in the biodiversity attracted by this meander.
Later in the evening, we will walk into the jungle to observe frogs, spiders and other nocturnal creatures.
Day 4:
We will leave Casa Matsiguenka quite early in the morning.
After a short stay in Boca Manu, you will have the option to visit the local community of Diamante.
Later that night we will visit the mammal clay lick.
We will wait in the camouflaged house to see the wild boars and tapirs eating the mineral salts.
Then we will go out and do some night walks.
Day 5:
At dawn, we will visit the Macaw Clay Lick. It is a unique view.
The clay here contains minerals that help these birds eliminate toxins from their bodies.
After breakfast, we will take a four-hour walking tour. During this tour you will be able to observe different species of plants.
After lunch, you can simply relax or take a dip in the cool waters of the Palotoa River.
Day 6:
After breakfast, we will take the boat back to the port of Atalaya. Here we will meet our driver for our return trip to the city of Cusco.
