Iquitos|| Excursion Pacaya Samiria National Reserve 3D 2N ||

Dare to spend 3 days in Pacaya Samiria for a full Amazon rainforest experience. Which creatures will emerge at dawn and dusk?
--Day 1--
After picking you up in Iquitos at 8:00 a.m., we’ll board a bus that will take us to Nauta. From there, we'll travel to the Marañón River, one of the major tributaries of the Amazon River that flows through Pacaya Samiria. We will embark on a boat for a three-and-a-half-hour journey along the river, marveling at the deep canyons carved by the Marañón.

Upon completing the boat ride, we’ll head to the camp, where our tents for the night are set up. We'll settle into our accommodations before beginning our safe and immersive Amazon rainforest experience. After a brief rest, we'll enjoy a delicious traditional Peruvian meal, with options to suit all tastes, including vegetarian dishes, chicken, fish, vegetables, fruit, and more.

We’ll then embark on a boat ride across the vast Huaylla Lake, where we’ll observe species such as herons, shanshos, camungos, and river dolphins. Did you know that Peru is home to pink dolphins? Our tour guide will reveal such fascinating surprises.

As dusk falls, we’ll take a walk to spot tarantulas and listen to the calls of nocturnal birds and other animals. We’ll also learn to identify which animal makes each sound.

At the end of this busy day, we’ll return to camp to rest in our tents. There's still much more of the Amazon to explore!

--Day 2--
After a hearty breakfast at the camp, we’ll venture back into the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve to set up a new camp for the night. This deep dive into nature will reveal the various flora and fauna thriving in the rainforest.

Look up, and you might spot birds soaring through the canopy, showcasing their colorful feathers, such as the yellow-faced parrot.

Mammal enthusiasts will be pleased, as the Amazon rainforest is home to sloths and various monkey species. With a bit of luck, we may see these animals climbing the tall trees that dominate this vast ecosystem.

Before the day ends, we'll take a nocturnal boat ride to see caimans, turtles, or anacondas in their natural habitat. We’ll then return to the camp for our final night in the Amazon.

--Day 3--
On the third and final day of our excursion, we’ll engage in a traditional Native American practice: fishing. We’ll spend the day catching fish such as piranhas.

After a complete breakfast at the camp, we’ll once again immerse ourselves in the jungle to enjoy the exotic birds and landscapes.

We’ll return to the camp for a delicious meal, and once recharged and rested, we’ll head back to Nauta. From there, we’ll take a bus back to Iquitos.
