At the agreed time we will pick you up at your hotel in the center of Iquitos or at the airport, and we will go to the pier. At that time, we will board a boat and embark on this excursion to Monkey Island. Are you ready to spend a day surrounded by nature?
We will calmly navigate the Itaya and Amazon rivers, a perfect excursion to learn all the secrets of these rivers and admire the richness of their flora and fauna. To do this, we will go to Fundo Pedrito, an animal farm to see alligators, lizards, turtles, piranhas, paiches and the famous Amazonian plant, Victoria Regia. Plus, depending on the season, we may even see dolphins.
Next, we will visit a native tribe that will teach us their dances and customs, to learn about their way of life. Afterwards, we will make a stop to eat and regain strength.
After two hours of sailing, we will arrive at Monkey Island, officially Isla Rodante, a project created for the care and recovery of numerous species of primates and returning them to their natural habitat.
There we will get off the boat and explore this refuge while learning everything about the species of monkeys that are cared for daily on the island. We will also interact with them and even feed them. You will fall in love with these animals! Before returning to the ship, we will satisfy our appetite with a traditional meal.
Finally, we will navigate the Amazon and Itaya rivers again and finish the excursion at your hotel in Iquitos after a six-hour experience in Peruvian nature.
