HIKE FROM LLACTAPATA TO MACHU PICCHU 3D - 2N

The 3-day Llactapata to Machu Picchu trek is one of the highlights of the Salkantay trek, which follows an ancient Inca trail leading to the Inca site of Llactapata.
DAY 01: Cusco to Santa Teresa – A Journey to the Rejuvenating Hot Springs We’ll meet at the meeting point at 6:30am, where you’ll begin the journey to Santa Teresa, a 6-hour scenic drive. Upon arrival in Santa Teresa, enjoy a delicious lunch in town before heading to the naturally heated hot springs to relax and rejuvenate. After spending a few hours soaking in the soothing waters, continue by car to Lucmabamba. Here, you’ll savor a delicious dinner and camp for the night in tents, surrounded by the tranquility of nature. DAY 02: Santa Teresa to Aguas Calientes – Exploring Llactapata and Hidroeléctrica Along the Way Experience the charm of Llactapata, an Incan ruin situated along the Salkantay Trail, during the second day of the hike. From this viewpoint, you’ll witness a stunning view of Machu Picchu from a distinctive angle. Start your day with an early breakfast at 6:00 a.m., then from Lucmabamba embark on a 3-hour ascending hike along the ancient Inca trail to reach the captivating ruins of Llactapata. Take your time to appreciate the spectacular views of Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu Mountain, and if time permits, catch a glimpse of the majestic Salkantay Mountain. Next, descend for 2 hours to Hidroeléctrica, where you’ll enjoy a nutritious lunch and a well-deserved rest. The final leg of your journey is a 3-hour scenic ride along the train tracks, which will take you to Aguas Calientes. Once in the picturesque town, you’ll be escorted to your accommodation for a refreshing shower and some relaxation. At 7:00 p.m., you’ll gather for a final dinner at a local restaurant, then retire for the night, eagerly awaiting your final destination: Machu Picchu. DAY 03: Machu Picchu - Cusco To reach the main gate of Machu Picchu from Aguas Calientes, you have two options. You can embark on a 1.5-hour panoramic hike or take a comfortable bus that costs $12. Upon arrival at the main gate of Machu Picchu, you will meet your group and guide to enter the grounds and begin your unforgettable exploration of this ancient Inca citadel. Our program includes an entrance ticket to Machu Picchu, our experienced guide will lead you on a 2.5-hour guided exploration of the Inca city, following the circuit described on your ticket. After immersing yourself in the wonders of Machu Picchu and exploring its surroundings, it is time to return to Cusco.
