The day begins with pickup from your hotel and a shuttle bus ride to the top of the Sacsayhuaman Mountain where adventure awaits. Visit a Spanish colonial temple, then stop by Almudena, the city’s very first cemetery which holds the secrets and stories of Cusco’s ancestors. Building work on the cemetery began in 1845 using rubble leftover from the Peruvian War of Independence. From your guide, learn about how 21st century Andeans deal with death through a mixture of Catholic and native religious beliefs.
