Ready to climb to the top of the Chachani volcano with this two-day tour from Arequipa, designed especially for those who love extreme adventure.
Trip Plan
Day 1: We will start our exciting adventure by picking you up at your hotel in Arequipa at 7:30 a.m. in a 4x4 vehicle. Are you ready for a truly thrilling experience? At 10:00 hours, we will arrive at Pampa Cañahuas, located on the backside of the Chachani volcano. Here, we will get ready while our guide gives us some essential recommendations. We will begin the ascent on foot for two hours, with gradually gentle ascents until we reach the base camp at 5200 metres above sea level. Once there, we will set up our tents and enjoy a lunch of soup and pasta. At nightfall, we will have a herbal tea and retire to rest.

Day 2: The second day will start at 2:00 am. After preparing again for the adventure and making sure everything is ready to continue, we will enjoy a delicious breakfast to warm up. Then comes the climax: the ascent to the summit of the Chachani volcano. Weather permitting, we will have reached the summit of Chachani at around 5:00 am after an intense hike. Once there, you will have free time to recover and admire the fabulous view of the surrounding volcanoes, such as Coropuna, the imposing peaks of Ampato, Hualca Hualca, the active Sabancaya, Misti and Ubinas. After this stop, we will descend towards the base camp. During the descent, we will make several stops to rest. Once we reach the starting point, the 4x4 vehicle will be waiting for us to take us back to Arequipa. We will drop you off at your hotels around 19:00 hours.
This two-day tour includes one night's accommodation and breakfast in tents.
