Discover the Nevado Pastoruri and Puyas Raimondi Tour, also known as the Climate Change Route in the Cordillera Blanca.
This day we head south of Huaraz, passing through Recuay, Ticapampa and Catac. We visit the source of natural sparkling waters, the vibrant lake PumapaShimi, and the forest of Puyas Raymondi, an emblematic plant of the Andes. We continue to the base parking of Pastoruri snow-capped mountain (4,800 m), from where, on foot or horseback (direct rental), we access the glacier (5,000 m). We explore its imposing ice walls and observe the impact of global warming on the glaciers. Finally, we return to the parking lot and take the transport back to Huaraz.
