2-Day Hatun Machay Tour

Day 1: Huaraz - Hatun Machay At the appointed time, we will pick you up at your hotel in Huaraz to begin this 2-day excursion to Hatun Machay. We will head south, passing through towns such as Recuay, Ticapam and Catac, before turning off towards the Cordillera Negra. After arriving and passing the checkpoint, we will begin a short walk of about 20 minutes to the stone forest of Hatun Machay, a site designated as Cultural Heritage of the Nation. During our tour of this area, we will witness cave paintings, petroglyphs and rock formations that will leave us in awe. However, for those looking for an extra dose of adventure, we will provide climbing equipment to enjoy this enclave. Hatun Machay has several climbing routes, with heights ranging from 15 to 60 meters, suitable for all levels. Our guide will be present to ensure a safe experience and help us get the most out of this exciting outdoor sport. After the climbing session, we will return to base camp for a hearty dinner and spend the night in tents - time to rest and recharge for the adventures ahead! Day 2: Hatun Machay - Huaraz The next day, we will have breakfast and return to the stone forest for a second chance at climbing. Afterwards, we will get back on the minibus and head back to Huaraz, where we will drop you off at your hotel at approximately 2:00 pm.
