Experience the rural life in Lake Titicaca. Stay a night with a local family in Amantani Island, try the local food. This activity includes the visit to Uros floating islands and Taquile Island.
DAY 1 - TOUR TO UROS FLOATING ISLAND AND OVERNIGHT IN AMANTANI ISLAND
Benefit from pick-up at your hotel in downtown Puno in the morning, and then sail across Lake Titicaca to discover the islands built from reeds by the indigenous Uros people.
Get stunning views of the natural reserve and look for wildlife, such as ducks, flamingos and other native birds. Receive a friendly welcome from the local people on arrival and listen to their traditional songs. Hear their extraordinary history from your bilingual guide, and take in amazing views of around 70 small islands that can be prone to drifting!
Get some free time to walk around the islands and see how they are made. Enhance your experience and take a ride on a reed boat with the locals. Float peacefully across the lake and watch the world go by.
Following the trip, cruise to Amantani Island where a local family will greet you and share their homw with you. Lunch will be prepared by the family using local products.
By afternoon, get a interesting explanation about the traditions of the locals as well as we hike on the island to reach the highest point: The Pachatata Mountain, get spectacular sceneries and enjoy one of the most amazing sunsets in the region. Returning to the family house, we will have Dinner prepared by the family using local products.
By night we will have a welcome night in charge of the locals, and you will have the chance to dress up with their colorful garmets.
DAY 2 - TRANSFER BY BOAT TO TAQUILE ISLAND AND RETURN TO PUNO
Early in the morning breakfast will be prepared by the locals. Then, cruise the lake heading to Taquile island.
Experience life on the lake up close and get some stunning views of the lake and the Andes Mountains as a bonus.
Hear about the inhabitants of Taquile Island and how they descended from the Inca people to mostly work as farmers and weavers, and how they have inherited some distinct Inca traditions.
Go for a medium-level hike on the island, known for its handwoven art and collective farms, and enjoy a lunch of local produce served in a local restaurant. Then, return to Puno city on the shore of the lake for the end of the tour services.
The arrival to Puno will be by 3:00 PM.

Keep in mind that the accommodation in Amantani Island is rustic and basic: Bed, blankets and the toilet could be outside the room. This activity is focused on experience the real life of locals and accommodation is far of being a hotel or similar. You have to prepared for unconventional conditions. Aside of these conditions our staff has all the first aid equipment if required.
Food in Amantani island and Taquile island will be prepared by locals using local andean products. As the islands have limited products most of the diet is based on potatoes, andean tubers, vegetables, quinoa and trout.
The Pick-up and Drop-off valid only for accommodations located in Puno city. The following hotels requires prior arrangement to meet in Puno city: Sonesta Posada del Inca, Casa Andina Premium, Xima Hoteles, GHL Hotel Isla Esteves, Jose Antonio Hoteles and Mirador del Titicaca.
