Monkey Island, on the Amazon River, is a must stop on your trip to Iquitos to enjoy fun times with the adorable monkeys.
- The excursion begins with the pick up at the hotel near the main square of Iquitos, from where we will go to the port of Bellavista to navigate the Amazon River.
- Our first stop will be the confluence of the Nanay River with the Amazon, passing by the Fundo Don Pedrito, where we will be able to observe paiches, lizards, piranhas and other species.
- Then we will arrive at the “Neyser” island, where you will have the opportunity to see various species of monkeys, such as pichicos, friars and maquisapa, all free in their habitat.
- We will continue to the town of San Juan de Huaslado to visit the rescue center, where you can see the famous anaconda and other species, and enjoy aphrodisiac and local medicinal drinks.
- We will have lunch and, near the end, visit an indigenous community to learn more about their culture, before returning to the port of Bellavista Nanay.
