Hike to Llactapata Machu Picchu 3 Days / 2 Nights

DAY 01:
We depart from Plaza Regocijo in Cusco towards Santa Teresa on a car trip of approximately 6 hours. Once there, we will meet our hiking guide and enjoy a delicious lunch. We will then settle into our tents and head to the Cocalmayo thermal baths to relax for 2 to 2.5 hours. We will return to the camp to have dinner and then rest.

DAY 02:
From Santa Teresa, we headed towards Llactapata, an ancient Inca ruin on the Salkantay trail. We start the day with an early breakfast and then take local transportation for 45 minutes to Lucmabamba. From there, we ascend the original Inca trail for 3 hours until we reach the ruins of Llactapata. Here we will enjoy stunning views of Machu Picchu, Huayna Picchu Mountain and, if the weather permits, Salkantay Mountain. After some time exploring, we descend for 2 hours towards Hidroeléctrica for a revitalizing lunch. Finally, we walked 3 hours along the train tracks to Aguas Calientes, where we settled into our accommodation, enjoyed dinner at a local restaurant, and rested.
