Boat Tour to Palomino Islands and Swim with sea Lions

Are you passionate about nature? You will discover the fascinating marine life of the Callao Islands as you sail the waters of the South Pacific and enjoy the experience of swimming with sea lions
At 10:00 a.m., we will meet at La Mar street to board our speedboat, which will take us to explore the islands of Callao.

During our journey, we will enter the South Pacific, contemplate impressive rock formations and observe fishing activities up close. We will pass by El Camotal, an island that was submerged after a strong earthquake, the remains of which are visible at low tide.

We will approach San Lorenzo to discover why it is known as the ‘mystery island’. In addition to housing a naval base, this island hides cemeteries of Chilean soldiers and more than 20 pre-Inca archaeological sites.

From the boat, we will see El Fronton Island, known for the ruins of its homonymous prison, famous for housing Shining Path prisoners in the 1980s. We will also admire the Cavinzas Islands, a group of rocky islets with natural caves, home to an important colony of Humboldt penguins.

We will skirt the Palomino Islands to get a close look at the untouchable guano bird ecosystem and the impressive colony of more than 8,000 sea lions that inhabit the area. We will anchor close to shore for those who wish to swim among these playful animals.

After exploring the Callao Islands by boat, we return to the mainland. The tour ends at the same meeting point in Callao at 1:00 pm.
