In the phanTECHNIKUM in Wismar, the Technical State Museum of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania presents exhibits from the world of technology and the history of technology. The focus is on the region.
In Wismar, phanTECHNIKUM invites everyone to find answers to questions about scientific and technical phenomena. On an exhibition area of 3,500 m², the permanent exhibition of the Technical State Museum MV is divided into the elements earth, fire, water and air. Many treasures from the industrial and technological history of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania can be discovered: for example the model of a fighter pilot that was once produced by the Rostock Heinkel works, a huge ship engine from the "Gorch Fock" and a more than 100 year old one Swiderski type steam engine. A special highlight is the world's first ejection seat for pilots, because this was also invented in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
