Nepal: Pikey Peak Trek

Embark on the breathtaking Pikey Peak Trek for a unique and unforgettable Himalayan adventure
This trek offers a perfect two-week Himalayan adventure with shorter days and moderate altitude. From the summit of Pikey Peak, you can catch a glimpse of Mt. Everest and other Himalayan giants. Unlike the crowded trade routes to the north, you will encounter very few trekkers. This fully supported lodge trek with a Sherpa Guide and porters allows each member a porter allowance of 12KG. While it is possible to complete the trek in fewer days, this itinerary provides time for altitude acclimatization, exploration, and relaxation.

The journey begins with an eight-hour coach ride to Dhap, where the first night will be spent. There will be stops along the way for refreshments and breaks. For first-time visitors to Nepal, there will be plenty to see and capture, so keep your camera handy. The initial three days involve an ascending ridge walk with stunning views to the east and west. You will come across many ancient Mani-Walls and Stupas along the way, remember to pass them on the left! Two days will be dedicated to Pikey Peak Base Camp for acclimatization, rest, and summiting - a chance to catch a double view of Everest for some.

Continuing from the base camp, the trail heads north through Yak pasture, Rhododendron, and Pine forests to Jase Bhanjyang. Keep an eye out for Yak & Nak (female), and if you're lucky, you might spot a Red Panda, Musk Deer, or Himalayan Thar. Be cautious around Nak if they have young ones! The journey then descends to the historic Sherpa village of Junbesi, where a day will be spent exploring the Hillary School and Thupten Choling Monastery. The final stretch of the trek follows the Junbesi Khola (river) to Phaplu, where you'll catch an early morning flight back to Kathmandu.
