Your Chefchaouen Day Trip from Tangier will start from your hotel in Tanger or from Tangier's city port, on the way, you will find Chaouen on the side of the mountains. Departing from your Hotel/Riad in or Tangier’s port, we will start a day trip to Chefchaouen. Crossing the Rif mountains. After an hour driving trought the mountains, we will have a short break by Nakhla lake and continue to the bleu town. Upon arrival, your driver/escort will introdouce you to your local guide. Explore the Chefchaouen. Chefchaouen means "the horns" in the local Tamazight language - this refers to the two mountain peaks that can be seen from the town and from which you have a magnificent view of the colourful play of this ancient city. A walk through the picturesque old town, with its lively squares and shady alleys, blue and white whitewashed houses, blue painted doors and wrought iron windows, is well worthwhile. A holy city for centuries, it was forbidden to non-Muslims until 1920 and has a lively and well-preserved medina. The Kasbah of Moulay Ismail, dating from the 17th century, houses the Folklore Museum. Here, various costumes, jewellery, ceramics, bridal sedan chairs, finely embroidered textiles, weapons and musical instruments bear witness to the Arab-Andalusian culture of this region. At the south-east corner of the central square "Place Outa-el-Hammam" stands the impressive Great Mosque, the great mosque, with its ornate octagonal minaret.
After lunch,you will have a free time to explore Chefchaouen by your self and you’ll drive back to Tangier. drop off to in the same place of the pickup.
