描述
Embark on a 5-day adventure to climb Mount Kenya, the second-highest peak in Africa. Hike through diverse landscapes, spot wildlife, and enjoy panoramic views from the summit.
Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Mount Kenya
Arrive in Nairobi (or another designated starting point) and meet your guide. After a briefing, head to Mount Kenya National Park (around 3-4 hours by road from Nairobi).
Transfer to the Base: Depending on your chosen route, head to Naru Moru or Sirimon Gate, which are popular starting points for the climb.
Overnight Stay: Settle into your accommodation for the night, whether it's at a nearby lodge or camping. Have the chance to rest and acclimatize before your climb.
Day 2: Hike to the Mountain Hut
Start the Trek: After an early breakfast, begin the ascent. Depending on the route chosen, today’s trek could be around 6-7 hours, taking you to one of the mountain huts—either Judmier Hut or Old Moses Camp.
Scenic Trekking: The hike takes you through a mix of alpine and bamboo forests, with wildlife like monkeys and birds. As you ascend, start to feel the air thin out, providing an opportunity to adjust to the altitude.
Overnight: Settle into your mountain hut, where you'll have a hot meal and an early night to prepare for the next day's higher altitude.
Day 3: Hike to the High Altitude Camp
Trekking Higher: After a hearty breakfast, continue your climb to the High Altitude Camp (either Shipton’s Camp or Mintos Hut), situated at around 4,200-4,300 meters (13,780-14,100 feet).
Tougher Terrain: The landscape becomes more rugged, with rocky outcrops, alpine meadows, and a chance to view Mount Kenya’s striking glaciers. The hike can take 5-7 hours, depending on your route and pace.
Rest & Acclimatization: Arrive at the camp, where you’ll have the rest of the day to rest and acclimatize. The guides will provide instruction on summit preparation.
Day 4: Summit Day (Point Lenana) & Descent
Early Start: For the summit attempt, wake up around 2-3 a.m. to begin the final push. This is the most demanding part of the climb, and it will take about 4-6 hours to reach Point Lenana (4,985 meters or 16,355 feet), the third-highest peak of Mount Kenya.
Summit Views: Reaching the summit is an exhilarating experience, with panoramic views of the surrounding peaks, glaciers, and the vast African landscape. You’ll also be able to see Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance, if the weather is clear.
Descent: After celebrating your summit achievement, begin your descent, which takes another 4-6 hours, depending on the route. Head down to Old Moses Camp or Judmier Hut.
Overnight: Rest and recover after the long, rewarding day.
Day 5: Final Descent & Return to Nairobi
Final Descent: After breakfast, begin your descent to the park gates, which typically takes 3-4 hours. Enjoy the remaining views and the chance to reflect on your climb.
Return to Nairobi: Once you reach the base, have a short transfer back to Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon or evening.
End of Tour: Be dropped off at your accommodation or the airport to end the climb, with memories of an incredible adventure and a sense of accomplishment.
