Join us for an enchanting afternoon tour starting in either Kyoto or Nara. Our adventure begins as we travel to the charming city of Uji, renowned for its cultural and historical significance.

In Uji, we visit the magnificent Byodoin Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its stunning Phoenix Hall, featured on the 10 yen coin. This temple is a masterpiece of Heian Period architecture and offers a serene glimpse into Japan’s past. After exploring the temple, we stroll down Byodoin Omotesando, a lively street lined with shops and cafes, perfect for trying various green tea treats that Uji is famous for.

Next, we take a leisurely walk through Uji Park, enjoying its scenic beauty before heading towards the unique Uji Keihan Station, designed with an industrial aesthetic that sets it apart from typical stations. From there, we journey to the iconic Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine.

At Fushimi Inari, we embark on a hike through the mesmerizing path of vibrant torii gates, leading us to the scenic Yotsuji intersection. Here, we pause to witness the breathtaking sunset, capturing the sky's changing colors framed by the historic gates. As evening falls, we have the option to enjoy a delightful dinner at a local eatery (additional charge).

For those who book the tour at least two days in advance, we offer an exclusive experience at a local community center. Engage in the art of green tea making, where you'll grind your own tea leaves with a traditional grinder and prepare your own matcha under the guidance of a Japanese tea instructor. Alternatively, enjoy a tea tasting experience, comparing different types of Uji tea with all five senses, savoring the unique aromas, flavors, and textures. These experiences, priced at approximately 2000 yen, are paid on the spot and are subject to availability but can be included in the tour with additional timing.
