On this excursion from Kyoto you will visit the cities of Arashiyama and Uji, where you will walk through a bamboo forest and discover majestic temples such as Byodo-in.
We will pick you up from your hotel in Kyoto at 9:30 a.m.
The tour will start taking a train to Arashiyama, on the outskirts of Kyoto. In this small city, we will explore its famous bamboo forest, enjoying its atmosphere of tranquility while we walk among the trees.
Then will be visiting the Buddhist temple of Tenryuji and the well-kept Zen Garden that surrounds it.
The tour continues to Nonomiya Shrine, where princesses traditionally spent a year purifying themselves before becoming imperial priestesses.
Next, we will travel to Uji, south of Kyoto. In this city, located between the ancient capitals of Nara and Kyoto, you can admire the beautiful temples and palaces that numerous nobles built.
After a free time to eat on your own, we will visit the historical surroundings of Uji while we learn the secrets of a city famous for the quality of its green tea and for being the place where the world's first novel was written. Do you know which one it is?
The excursion continues with a visit to the majestic Byodo-in temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most recognized symbols of Japan, which appears on the 10-yen coins.
The tour will finish at your hotel in Kyoto at approximately 5:30 p.m.
