The excursion will start as you explore old basalt lava flows, volcanic caves, and secular woods. It will then continue with the tastes and smells of Sicily, as you sample honey and wine from the region. Finally, take a short cruise around Acitrezza.
Depart Catania and drive to Mount Etna to begin your 6-hour tour. As you ascend to a height of 2,000 meters, your professional guide will tell you about the history of the volcano, as well as explain the surrounding unique nature to you. You will walk on paths away from the tourist areas, to take in the flora and fauna away from the crowds.
Different aspects of the volcano will be highlighted, such as its nature and resources, its amazing landscapes and the huge lava flows that have destroyed buildings and roads.
Finally, with a helmet and a flashlight, you’ll visit and explore a lava flow cave. You can learn about its origin and the features inside from your guide. You will then also have the chance to sample the wines, liqueurs, and honey from this area, before a short cruise around Acitrezza.
