We will meet at the agreed location, our tour starts by visiting Oia, the most famous village of Santorini. It is known throughout the world for its beauty and fantastic sunset and is considered one of the most picturesque villages in Greece. Situated over a cliff also offers a great view over the volcano, the “Caldera” and the island of Thirasia. After a short walking tour, You will also have time on your own to stroll around the village.
Continuing, we visit the Prehistoric city of Akrotiri. The archeological site of Akrotiri is one of the main attractions of the island. You will have the opportunity to explore the remains of a fantastic preserved prehistoric settlement that was destroyed by the enormous volcano eruption at about 1612 B.C.
The town was covered with ashes for thousands of years and was accidentally discovered at the beginning of the twentieth century fantastically preserved and almost intact through time.
Our next stop is at the mountain of Prophet Elias which is the highest top of the island (567m altitude). At the top of the mountain, there is the monastery of Prophet Elias. The monastery was built in 1712 and from its yard, you’ll be left breathless with the 360 views of the island of Santorini.
During the tour, we will also have the opportunity to make a photo stop at one of the black sandy beaches of the island.
To take the most out of this tour we always provide a really flexible schedule in order to take your time swimming at the beach, have lunch and maybe visit a winery.
During our visit to the winery, you can taste some of the wines that are produced on the island and learn at the same time about the long tradition of winemaking in Santorini.
