The colossal rock marks the site of the supreme court of ancient Athens. Kings from centuries ago are buried in tombs surrounding it.

Continue to Philopappou Hill, passing the prison where the Greek philosopher Socrates was sentenced to death on controversial charges. You’ll also stop at the top of Philopappou Hill to enjoy breathtaking views over Athens. Sit down with a glass of white wine and enjoy a picnic of various Greek delicacies.
