The name Napfilio comes from the word "neb-pilio" which means 'nose'. This is due to the fact that in ancient times, the inhabitants of Napfilio had an acute sense of smell and could distinguish between the forms of animals by scent.
The town is situated at an altitude of 987 meters, and it is noteworthy for its olive trees.
