The walk takes you through the three historic city centre areas - Altstadt, Neustadt and Dominsel - which offer not only important sights but also charming corners off the beaten track.

Starting in the Old Town, take a look at the swamp cypresses and cross the Homeyen Bridge with a view of the Havel. The route continues to the Old Town neighbourhood, which exudes a special charm as a former fishing settlement on the river.

A visit (outside) to the impressive town hall is also part of the tour. The market square there not only offers architecture of historical significance, but also the Roland statue, important in the city's medieval history.

Particularly whimsical are the Waldmöpse, created by the famous cartoonist Loriot, which are scattered throughout the city. These bronze figures add a humorous aspect to the tour and offer a modern tribute to the creativity and humour of the city.
