Discover three of Denmark's best-known castles on a full-day tour from Copenhagen. Drive through the lush Danish countryside along the "Danish Riviera coastal road", where you can enjoy a lovely view of the sea on one side and impressive manor houses on the other.
Arrive in the city of Helsingør (Elsinore) and the famous Kronborg Castle. See the narrowest place between Sweden and Denmark, and the reason for the construction of Kronborg Castle. From 1429 to 1857, Sundtold was the biggest source of income for the King.
From Helsingør, drive through the undulating green landscape to Fredensborg, where you pass the Crown Prince's (Now King Frederik 10) residence at Fredensborg Castle, surrounded by a beautiful park (photo stop).
Then, head to Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød, built in Renaissance style by King Christian IV in 1625. The visit to the castle includes the very fine national history museum, the Chapel, and the Hall of Knights.
