Experience the landscapes of Danxia Mountain and visit the Chinese Buddhist monastery of Nanhua Temple on a full-day tour from Guangzhou. Journey through Guangdong Province and marvel at the cultural and natural beauty of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Benefit from pick-up at your Guangzhou hotel at 07:00 and transfer with your guide to Guangzhou Nan Railway Station (Guangzhou South). Catch the bullet train to Shaoguan, about 1 hour's journey to the north.
Upon arrival in Shaoguan, travel to Danxia Mountain, declared part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of "China Danxia" in 2010. Climb to the summit of Zhanglao to experience the highest peak of Danxia Mountain, and get bird's eye views of the surrounding outcrops of the mountain range. Marvel at the curious rock formation of Yang Yuan Stone, ("Male/Father Stone") and its remarkable resemblance to a phallus.
After a quick snack, continue to the Buddhist monastery of Nanhua Temple. Known for its Buddha statues of Sakyamuni Buddha, Medicine Buddha and Amitabha in the Grand Hall. Enjoy a complimentary light lunch before returning to Shaoguan Railway Station to catch the bullet train back to Guangzhou, where on arrival a vehicle will take you back to your hotel.
