As an ancient royal garden in Beijing, the Summer Palace is located in the western suburb of Beijing, 17 kilometres away from the city, built on Kunming Lake and Wanshoushan Mountain. It is a large-scale landscape garden constructed with the design method of Jiangnan Garden, and it is also the best-preserved one among the royal palaces and imperial gardens.
