Experience the culture and life of the Khmer people on a trip through the villages of Siem Reap. Learn a method of fishing while hunting for the special snakehead fish.
We start early in the morning at 7 a.m. and ride on motorcycles or scooters, about 20-30 km from Siem Reap, to the nearest villages. There we stop at local markets where you get an insight into typical Khmer life. After a short stop, we continue to one of the numerous spots for fishing in the rice fields. (The spots vary depending on the water level)
Once there, you will receive an introduction to the fishing tackle and learn the basic rules of topwater fishing. (You will be fishing with frogs as bait) You will then be given a small snack so that you can cast your fishing rod with renewed vigor.
Then experience the indescribable feeling when the snakehead fish grabs the bait on the surface of the water and you hopefully land it. This is a unique fishing technique that you must experience. The fish we catch can be prepared and eaten on the spot if required, just like the locals do when they are out fishing for hours. On the way, we will certainly come across local fishermen with whom we will stand together in the rice fields. We will have lunch in one of the surrounding villages. Strengthened, we will then change spots again if necessary. (depending on the fish stock) we will then fish again for a few hours in the afternoon. You will experience the wild, pure nature of Cambodia. It is not uncommon to encounter snakes or other dangerous wild creatures. It will definitely be an adventure you will never forget.
Around 17:30 the tour is over and we drive back to Siem Reap to the starting point.
- Snacks, lunch, water and one soft drink per person are included, as well as pickup at any hotel in Siem Reap.
