Experience the most notable sites of Cambodia with this 2 day tour of both Phnom Penh and Angkor Wat Archeological Park in Siem Reap.
The tour can start in either place, Phnom Penh OR Siem Reap and includes one way travel between cities. If you would like to travel back to your start location, this can be done for an extra fee of $70.
This outline is the tour starting in Phnom Penh on day one and ending in Siem Reap on day two but can be swapped to Angkor Wat on day one, travel to and stay overnight in Phnom Penh ready to start day two. Your pickup location will identify which location you would like to start, or just communicate to the tour provider after booking.
Day One: Start with pick-up from your hotel in Phnom Penh, either check out and put your luggage directly in the car or return to your hotel briefly prior to leaving for Siem Reap to pick it up. Commence the day in Phnom Penh by learning about the darker history of the Khmer Rouge at the Genocide Museum (S21) followed by a visit to the Killing Fields.
Have lunch before visiting a number of notable highlights back in the city centre.
Learn how Phnom Penh got its name at Wat Phnom, take an optional visit to the most important temple in Phnom Penh, Wat Ounalom and walk the city park strip to see the impressive Independence Monument and King Sihanouk Statue before heading out of Phnom Penh to Siem Reap.
Stay overnight in Siem Reap ready to commence day 2.
Day Two: Start Day two early at approximately 5am for sunrise at Angkor Wat or take a more relaxed approach and start a little later. Purchase the Angkor Park Pass on the way in the morning, no matter the time, and be at Angkor Wat for sunrise if you choose this option. Take as much time as you need exploring Angkor Wat, followed by Angkor Thom City, Bayon Temple, Terrace of the Elephants and Leper King, Ta Phrom Temple (Tomb Raider Temple) and Banteay Kdei, all within the Angkor Park Archeological Complex.
Be returned back to your hotel in Siem Reap on conclusion.
