Akhtala Monastery is a historical Armenian monastery located in the Lori Province of Armenia, near the town of Akhtala. The monastery complex dates back to the 10th century and is renowned for its unique architecture and beautiful frescoes. It was built during the reign of King Ashot II of the Bagratuni dynasty and was originally known as Pghindzavank.

Haghpat Monastery, also known as Haghpatavank, is another significant medieval Armenian monastery complex located in the Lori Province of Armenia. Together with Sanahin Monastery, it was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996 under the name "Monasteries of Haghpat and Sanahin." Haghpat Monastery was founded in the 10th century by Queen Khosrovanush, wife of the Bagratid king Ashot III, and later expanded by the Kiurikian dynasty. The monastery complex includes various religious and secular buildings, such as churches, chapels, bell towers, scriptoriums, and refectories, surrounded by fortified walls.

Sanahin Monastery Complex is another notable medieval Armenian monastery located in the Lori Province of Armenia, not far from Haghpat Monastery. Along with Haghpat Monastery, Sanahin Monastery was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996 under the joint title "Monasteries of Haghpat and Sanahin." Founded in the 10th century, Sanahin Monastery was a prominent religious and cultural center in medieval Armenia. The name "Sanahin" translates to "this one is older than that one," possibly referring to its antiquity compared to neighboring Haghpat Monastery. Like Haghpat, Sanahin Monastery flourished under the patronage of various Armenian dynasties, including the Bagratuni and Kiurikian dynasties.
