The itinerary
Our private car and tour guide will pick you up at 8 am from your hotel for the Mekong Delta 1-Day Biking Tour. After a 2-hour drive from Saigon, we'll board a leisurely cruise on the Tien River to see four islets representing mythical Southeast Asian animals: Dragon, Kirin, Tortoise, and Phoenix.
We'll visit a honey bee farm to sample honey tea with lemon, and enjoy tropical fruits typical of the Mekong Delta. For the adventurous, there’s a chance to touch pythons at a local farm. Next, we'll explore a coconut candy workshop and learn how these treats are made by hand.
On the tour, you'll experience “Don Ca Tai Tu,” traditional folk music recognized by UNESCO. We'll also relax on a rowing boat through a mangrove palm canal and take a horse-drawn carriage ride through a village, reflecting 19th-century local transport.
Returning to the mainland, we’ll head to Ben Tre province, known as Vietnam's coconut kingdom. There, you'll see the many uses of the “tree of heaven” in daily life.
Special to this tour, we’ll bike through rural areas where cars can’t go, covering 7–10 km. We’ll pass local markets, tropical fruit gardens, and cross a bridge with stunning mangrove palm views. You’ll also visit a local market and chat with friendly locals.
We'll harvest coconuts in a garden and enjoy a home-cooked meal typical of the area. The tour end back in Saigon around 6 pm.
