Hanoi Local Tours: Villages/Art Excursion

Take a unique and local tour of Hanoi, a major city in the north of Vietnam. During the journey, you will visit Bat Trang pottery village, Dong Ky wooden handicraft village, But Thap pagoda and Dong Ho painting village.

At 8:00 a.m., the driver picks you up at your hotel lobby, followed by visits to Bat Trang pottery village, where shopkeepers will guide you in creating your very own ceramic product. Dong Ky wooden handicraft village, But Thap pagoda, and Dong Ho painting village.

Then it's off to Dong Ky, a traditional wood carving village, located in Dong Quang commune, Tien Son district, Bac Ninh province.
There, you will be surprised by the beauty, quality, and sophistication of the furniture made by the "golden hands" of skilled craftsmen.

But Thap temple houses various priceless ancient objects and statues, masterworks of 17th-century Vietnamese wood carving. The pagoda has 10 buildings spread over 100 meters, from the three-entrance gate to the bell-tower and back house. Inside the temple are more than 50 statues, the most remarkable of which is the thousand-handed and thousand-eyed Guanyin, one of the sculptural masterpieces of Vietnam.

Dong Ho village, also known as Mai village, is very small, with no more than 200 households. Dong Ho paintings are lively descriptions of the beauty of the countryside and traditional customs and festivals. After this, it's back to the hotel for the 5:00 p.m. drop-off.
