Join us for an exploration of the Three Mile Vision for the Rail Park and the dynamic neighborhoods around it. You will learn about the history of the area, the ecology of our city, and much more.
The Rail Park is a vision for 3 miles of continuous park and pathway extending from Northern Liberties to Brewerytown, connecting 10+ neighborhoods in between. The Three Mile Vision Tour explores the past, present, and future of the Rail Park, highlighting the potential for this project to connect thousands of Philadelphia residents and visitors to green space and each other.
During the Three Mile Vision Tour, attendees will be guided along the city’s streets, traveling through Philadelphia’s former industrial center, once referred to as the Workshop of the World. Attendees will see public works of art, industrial remnants, and wild urban ecologies as they look above and below them, peering into and learning about the unique sites that are a part of the vision for the Rail Park.
This tour is a great option for people who enjoy traveling by foot, are interested in Philadelphia’s industrial history, and/or have a passion for infrastructure reuse and sustainability. The tour will conclude at Phase One, the first completed section of the Rail Park.

Each tour begins at 10 AM and will last approximately 2 hours.
We will begin at the corner of 27th and Pennsylvania Streets, and end at Phase One around 12th and Callowhill Streets. Please note that this is a linear walking tour, extending 2 miles. We do not loop back to the starting point so plan your transportation accordingly.
