Your personal tour will take you from your hotel in Newport or Cardiff. You will visit sites such as:
St Brides - here you will learn about the location of Newport. Discover the first influences of Roman occupation and the Gwent levels. You will also hear about how Newport struck one of the first blows against Germany in the First World War.
Tredegar House - a National Trust property, home to the Morgan Family. Discover how Sir Charles Morgan made Newport a major site for the export of coal and iron during the Industrial Revolution.
Transporter Bridge - currently undergoing a major refurbishment, you will be able to get a close-up view of one of the few remaining working transporter bridges in the world.
14 Locks Centre - learn about the canal network that brought the coal and iron into Newport. A small canal heritage centre is in the building together with a cafe.
Caerleon - home to a Roman legion during the occupation. You will see the amphitheatre, and latrines, and visit the Roman museum. It is also intricate to the King Arthur legion as this is where he was coronated and held his round table of knights until Camelot was established.
